IC Panama inaugurated: GUABAS ARRIBA DE ANTON AQUEDUCT SYSTEM
On November 26, the Guabas Arriba Aqueduct System was inaugurated. The event was held in the presence of the representative of IC Corporation Lic. Ruth Rodriguez, H.R. Feneth Aguilar, Congressman H.D. Carlos Santamaria, the director of the National Council for Sustainable Development (CONADES), Lic. Ricardo Fernández, Lic. Claribel Jimenez Legal Representative of the Municipality of Antón and the president of the Rural Aqueduct Administration Boards (JAAR), Mr. Armando Rodríguez.
This project, Study, design, and construction of the Guabas Arriba de Antón Aqueduct System, began on November 11, 2016, with a plan of approximately 635 calendar days. However, due to various situations, including the pandemic, it is successfully completed later, this being November 26, 2021.
IC Panama signed a contract with the Panamanian government for the implementation of the Aqueduct System for the rural community of Las Guabas Arriba, of Anton in the province of Coclé. Community with more than 677 inhabitants and without a supply of vital liquid such as drinking water.
This project comes to solve a problem that the community has waited for more than 30 years, according to the residents.
The project included the design, civil works, supply, and installation of 16 kilometers of pipeline, a 30,000-gallon storage tank, with chlorinator. 3 submersible pumps: 1 of 10hp and 2 of 5hp, 400 feet deep, with their respective pumping station booths. 245 homes connected and capacity for more facilities.
The inauguration ceremony of the system was marked by the respective ribbon cutting, the religious invocation of the community priest, and the delivery of the substantial act.
The president of JAAR formally receives the aqueduct from Lic. Ruth Rodriguez on behalf of Ic Corporation.
Finally, the community and all attendees participated in a toast that was given in front of the area where the storage tank is built.
